The Seattle Seawolves Youth Rugby Camp took center stage on KING 5 Evening Magazine this week, giving viewers an inside look at the next generation of rugby in the Pacific Northwest.
KING 5 host Chris Cashman joined Seawolves players, coaches and young athletes at Starfire Sports as campers spent the week learning the fundamentals of rugby in a professional environment.
The four-day Seawolves Youth Rugby Camp brings together athletes ages 9–14 for hands-on instruction from professional players and coaches.
Throughout the week, campers work on passing, tackling technique, movement, teamwork and game awareness while building confidence and forming new friendships.
For the Seawolves, the camp is part of a larger commitment to making rugby more accessible to young athletes throughout the region.
Cashman did more than watch from the sideline.
During the Evening Magazine feature, he stepped onto the field and joined the action, including one memorable moment where he found himself running from a group of campers after getting his hands on the ball.
The segment also highlighted the people behind the camp and the opportunity young athletes have to learn directly from members of Seattle’s professional rugby organization.
The feature originally aired on KING 5 Evening Magazine on August 10, 2026.
The Seattle Seawolves thank Chris Cashman and the KING 5 Evening Magazine team for spending time at camp and helping share the growth of youth rugby across the Pacific Northwest.
The Seawolves also thank Alaska National Insurance Company for supporting the 2026 Seawolves Youth Rugby Camp and helping create opportunities for young athletes to experience the game.
