November 16, 2023 (TUKWILA, WA) Huw Taylor, a lock, joins the Seawolves after spending the last six seasons with the Dragons RFC, one of four professional rugby union regional teams in Wales, where he made 52 appearances.
“It was clear from my first meeting with Huw that he’d be a tremendous addition to the Seawolves, both from a ‘team first’ perspective, and with his versatility to perform in the back row and lock. Taylor first played internationally for England’s U18 (2014) and U20 (2016) teams. It was in 2016, that England won the Junior World cup, with Taylor scoring a try in the final against Ireland. During this time, Taylor played for the Worcester Warriors in England, Premiership Rugby.
Huw had this to say about joining Seawolves Rugby, “Having played professional rugby for ten years, I have had the opportunity to travel across Europe and South Africa. I recently married England rugby winger Kelly Smith, and we both are excited to by the opportunity to explore Seattle and contribute to the Seawolves winning the MLR Shield.
