We held a successful and energizing Run With The Pack at our first preseason match that saw many eager kids from 5yrs and up put their skills to the test – register your kid now for the next one on April 5th.
Our very own Chance Wenglewski shone on stage at the Seattle Sports Commission – Sports Star of the Year Award, talking about the ability Rugby has to transcend boundaries of age, ethnicity and background while forming relationships built on camaraderie and character.
It was endearing to see so many of our players volunteer to brave the cold waters at Alki Beach for the annual Seattle Polar Plunge raising both funds and awareness for Special Olympics WA, which serves 8,000 athletes in the PNW. Many thanks to our fans who also contributed to funds raised.
Lastly the Seawolves Coaching team, Chris Latham, James Kimerrer and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Highschool Coaches from the Camas region, and sharing with them the key components of strength and conditioning, the importance of warm up and the application of rugby skills, as well as imparting fundamental skills and the significance of the run-catch-pass.
I look forward to what’s to come in March as we continue to generate awareness and ensure we are working to develop pathways not just for young players, but also coaches in the PNW.
